Celestino Mesa Santa Cruz de Tenerife November 2, 1963

Following his studies in various disciplines of the Fine Arts and an extensive period traveling across Europe—where he worked and refined his skills in diverse artistic practices—he returned to the Canary Islands to continue his creative pursuits across multiple art-related disciplines.

For several years, he worked with various companies throughout the archipelago, directing the artistic and creative vision of major entertainment and leisure productions. In 1999, he turned his focus to digital graphic design, video editing, and programming, earning diplomas in graphic design, video editing, and multimedia production in 2004.

In recent years, he has further expanded his expertise in audiovisual production, photography, camera operation, editing, and post-production color grading. Today, he seamlessly balances his practice as a visual artist with his work as a designer, multimedia editor, and finishing artist for audiovisual productions. Based in his Tenerife studio, he presents his work annually in various galleries.

Mesa’s artistic style is remarkably versatile, encompassing several distinct creative inquiries. Possessing a masterful command of diverse mediums, his practice spans from experimental acrylics to delicate watercolors. However, it is through the medium of oil paint that he creates his grandest compositions, characterized by their impressive scale and exquisite play of light. These works have earned him participation in numerous national and international exhibitions, alongside prestigious awards. He is also a highly acclaimed portraitist, with notable commissions for the Spanish Royal Family and the Royal Families of the United Arab Emirates.

His paintings are held in numerous private collections across Spain, England, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Italy, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia, among others.

His work is represented in museums and prestigious institutions, including: The Town Hall of La Orotava; Liceo de Taoro; La Laguna Town Hall, Tenerife; Santa Cruz de Tenerife Town Hall; Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Town Hall; Ábaco Museum, Tenerife; Statens Museum for Kunst, Denmark; Royal Society of British Watercolourists, England; Insular Wine Museum, Tenerife; Javier de la Rosa Museum, Gran Canaria; Oscar Domínguez Museum, Tenerife; Gáldar Town Hall, Gran Canaria; Hotel Tigaiga, Tenerife; Iriarte Higher School of Tourism, Tenerife; Hyatt Carlton Tower Hotel, London; Hotel Oslo, Norway; Koifisch, Germany; Hotel Mar y Sol, Tenerife; Gerovitae Senior Center, La Guancha; Leopoldo Panero Museum, Astorga-León; University of La Laguna (ULL), Tenerife; the Kiessling Family; Arona Town Hall; and Adeje Town Hall.
