An interpretation of "solitude" within the not-so-still life... and interpersonal relationships, viewed through a critical artistic lens where plants and inanimate objects converse on canvas or cardboard... or perhaps not...

The feeling of loneliness, as defined by Peplau and Perlman (1979), is the perceived gap between what an individual expects from interpersonal relationships and what they would have desired. In a similar vein, psychologist Guy Winch emphasizes the inherent subjectivity of loneliness; this feeling depends entirely on whether one feels emotionally or socially disconnected from those around them, regardless of being surrounded by people, friends, or family.

The feeling of loneliness is, therefore, a product of an individual's own beliefs and the evaluations they make regarding their emotional and social situation.

Loneliness affects us all at some point in our lives; phrases such as "I am alone" or "I have no one" are all too common.

At times, the person uttering these words may have family, friends, or even a vast following on social media, yet they fail to feel in true harmony with anyone; what they truly wish to convey is that they feel deeply alone.

It is a sensation difficult to articulate—hence this personal interpretation through not-so-still lifes, evoking a complex blend of inadequacy, lack, and, above all, emptiness.
