This work is part of my series Materia Viva (Living Matter). In it, the human body is not presented as an anatomical representation, but rather as a territory traversed by vital processes: a space where the internal is made visible and where nature ceases to be merely an environment, becoming instead an active manifestation. Here, the seasons are not understood through the lens of landscape, but as visceral bodily and emotional experiences.
In summer, the body relinquishes all resistance. Water and the color blue dominate the scene. The figures submerge, float, and merge with the sea. The body becomes weightless, contours dissolve, and identity grows increasingly ambiguous, verging on the mythological. Like sirens, the figures inhabit a state of suspension, where silence, stillness, and surrender replace the tension of preceding cycles. The title, Ophelia, evokes the image of a body surrendered to the water—not as a symbol of death, but as a metaphor for transformation, dissolution, and rebirth.
