CALMA, RESPIRA

A whale rises towards the light, and the title gives us the instruction: calm, breathe. Here De Miguel trades the fine brush for matter. The seabed is built from rough textures, like rock or rusted metal, and the water clouds into patches of blue and green. The artist describes an underwater space where the remains of war live alongside living ancestors. The shapes on the seabed can be read as those remains, and the whale as the ancestor, older than any conflict. Follow its body up to the pale patch of the surface, and breathe with it.
