NAVEGANDO SIN FRONTERAS

Almost the whole canvas is sky. De Miguel builds it in bands that move from petrol blue to pale blue, so smooth they read as mist, and leaves the ship low and small near the right edge. It is a period sailing ship, sails swollen and pennants flying: one of his "navigators", Spanish ships crossing unreal spaces. Look at the sea. No waves are drawn, only a strip of white foam that could just as well be cloud. The ship moves on without knowing whether it sails on water or on air, and that doubt is the voyage.
