Melancuria

"Melancuria" comes from a body of work exploring displacement, migration, home and the feeling of belonging - or not belonging - to a place. The painting reflects the emotional weight of leaving one place while trying to establish a sense of home somewhere else. Its circular format is also part of the work’s meaning, exploring how an image, a body and a narrative can adapt to an unusual shape, rather than simply being contained by a traditional rectangular format.
